Shantaa is located at Ao Tapao, just north of the pier. We have beach, hill and a private canal. And we are about 80 Km away from Trad town. Kood Island (Koh Kood) is the last island of the east and it's the 4th largest island of Thailand. There are waterfalls and forest. Koh Kood is still considered a virgin island. There are no banks, malls, convenient sotres or any signs of moderniztion on the island (yet).

From Bangkok:

By car:
There are 2 main routes that our guests usually use.
1. Take motorway. Pay 2 tolls. Exit at BanBung exit and head to Klang (route no 344). Then you turn left at Klang junction to Chantaburi (route no 3). Keep on going along on Route 3 until you reach Sa-Kew junction. Turn right and go straight all the way to the town of Trad.
2. Take BangNa toll way or BangNa – Trad Rd (route no 3). Exit from main road. Head left and follow the Chantaburi by-pass that reads Pattaya-Rayong. On the second intersection you will see the BanBung – Klang – Chantaburi sign. Take it (on your left). Then you are now on route 344. Turn left at Klang junction to Chantaburi (route no 3). Keep on going along on Route 3 until you reach Sa-Kew junction. Turn right and go straight all the way to the town of Trad.

Once you get to the pier, you can leave your car at the public parking. Mostly, it's safe and roofed. We use it ourselves all the time.

You can go around or to any pier with ‘song thew’ (public transportation). Song-thew is a converted pick up truck to have 2 rows of seats at the back. Ask the driver when you are there. We have no information about this at all. You can usually find 'song-thew' around the market in Trad City.
